Product Review: Grout Sensation

We were asked to post an article about Grout Sensation on our blog, so we thought we’d go a step further and test this ourselves and write a review about it for our readers.  The company representative was very accommodating and our samples arrived in the mail in no time at all.

Grout Sensation is sold as a tile and grout cleaner that works by going down to the base of the grout pulling up any dirt, mold, mildew, stains including coffee, wine, blood and bacteria.   From the website, “ Once applied to ceramic or porcelain tiles your grout will be the exact same color as the day it was put in.   Never removing even one grain of sand.” Okay then, let’s give it a try!

We received our package with a few sample bottles, instructions and a small grout brush.   Following the instructions,  we first tested the Grout Sensation on our bathroom grout.  We only targeted a small area of grout and left the rest alone so we’d be able to compare them.  We applied Grout Sensation to the grout and let the it stand for the recommended 30
seconds. We then scrubbed with the grout brush that was included in the package and the stain and discoloration dissipated almost immediately. So far, so good.

We then tested the Grout Sensation on a coffee stained area in the kitchen.  Almost immediately the treated area began to bubble.  We decided to leave the product on for a little longer, 60 seconds.  We barely had to scrub the grout, as it appeared to come clean.  After lightly scrubbing, the area was restored to it’s original color.

Clearly,  Grout Sensation  should always be tested on a small area first to check for discoloration. Also, the instructions do state that it shouldn’t be used on granite, marble or stainless steel.

Overall,  Grout Sensation is a handy product to use if you have some grout cleaning to do.  We also recommend that you use gloves when using this product if you have sensitive skin.

As with any product, be sure to adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions when using Grout Sensation.  You can read more about their product at  http://www.usachemicalcorp.com
