We\u2019re used to dressing up, trick-or-treating from house to house in the neighborhood with family and throwing large, fancy costume parties. Due to social distancing, we unfortunately have to cut back. Luckily, Nickell Morgan of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplyhandmadestudios.com\/\">Simply Handmade<\/a> shared her idea of an intimate, socially distanced Halloween gathering right in her yard. I wanted to be able to spend some time with a select few friends, since we haven\u2019t been able to because of COVID-19. My husband and I came up with the idea of a \u201cmask-querade\u201d party so we can enjoy each other\u2019s company safely!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-121961 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/9446b44dd7275a839d5cdd8c2f3fdefd.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I was so excited to find out The Home Depot\u2019s entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/b\/Holiday-Decorations-Halloween-Decorations\/N-5yc1vZc2ve?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">Halloween collection<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0was available online for me to browse at my convenience, and not have to worry about going into the store. Not only did I manage to snag amazing Halloween items, I also browsed their entire website for gorgeous flatware, and plates to go with the moody theme I wanted to achieve for the dinner party.<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">My friends and family were surprised that The Home Depot had everything I needed to decorate the space, from the Halloween Decor to the flatware!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">DIY<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> I did a few DIYs for this backyard get-together! S hooks\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s5\">Drill and Drill Bit\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Instructions:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I painted the design I wanted on the front of the plexiglass with acrylic paint and a paintbrush. Once complete, I spray painted the back of the plexiglass with several layers of spray paint to make it nice and opaque.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122003 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/c798bc59e3072fd6c7c5dbc050ddf8e3.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Once I had the design the way I liked, I cut the copper down to the sizes (listed below) using a pipe cutter, then assembled all of the pieces. No glue required! You can easily take this apart, or glue to keep it together. It\u2019s totally up to you! I ended up using a ribbon to attach the plexiglass because I didn\u2019t realize my hooks were too small! Make sure you get the hooks where the opening is \u00be in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">(2) 22 in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">(2) 26 in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">(4) 6 in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122004 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/958f051237d3641afba9e5521f336f71.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> Donald and I also tried making a quick and easy canopy over the dinner table, which worked well inside, but with the slope of the yard, it just would not hold up! It ended up falling, and instead of scrapping that part of the project, I hung these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Merkury-Innovations-96-Light-4-ft-Warm-White-LED-Curtain-Cascading-Lighting-MI-CCS02-199\/307940889?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">curtain lights<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">to incorporate a little of what I wanted. I think it still turned out great!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122005 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/2d31d02cd76d536e2b41259c6378db9d.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In order to make these name place cards, I repurposed these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/MSI-Cienega-Springs-Picket-13-78-in-x-10-in-x-6mm-Textured-Multi-Surface-Mesh-Mounted-Mosaic-Tile-0-96-sq-ft-SGLSPK-CIESPR6M\/312460059?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">backsplash tiles <\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">by lightly spray painting them with Rust-Oleum\u2019s Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint. I added the names in copper and bam! My husband and I were able to put this together rather easily! The mausoleum came with instructions or you have the option of downloading the Bilt app for interactive step-by-step instructions, which is so helpful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122008 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/2e0a4c3d348c4fb88802b5230b4ccf68.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Honestly, this mausoleum set the tone for the overall dinner party! It\u2019s definitely the first thing guests will see when they\u2019re coming over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122009 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/c0252d75a8f8e2549f9042c55a8bb737.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We played around with headstones and put the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/3-ft-Animated-Zombie-Girl-with-Teddy-Bear-and-LED-Eyes-8330-36039\/304890224?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">zombie girl <\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0in front with some fog using the low lying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Home-Accents-Holiday-400-Watt-Low-Lying-Fog-Machine-with-Auto-Stop-Function-5724337\/312729025?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">fog machine<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, and it looked really cool!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Setting the Table<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122010 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/8867420d7751fac651ed688cb19af13d.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The next thing I did was set up the dinner area. I went to the flower district in NYC and purchased flowers that gave off moody Halloween vibes. Then, I made the arrangements and moved onto setting the table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122011 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/1d2395e84f9d203599cfc31898cef39c.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I created some polls on instagram, allowing my instagram family to choose the linens, along with the copper accents, these gorgeous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/CASAFINA-Taormina-White-Dinner-Plate-Set-of-6-TA601-WHI\/313480399?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">dinner plates<\/a>, and even the colors of the floral arrangement! Most of what you see here is from The Home Depot. The cheesecloth was dyed black to match the aesthetic, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/CASAFINA-Taormina-White-Dinner-Plate-Set-of-6-TA601-WHI\/313480399?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">dinner plates<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Luminarc-Nuance-10-5-oz-Goblet-Set-of-12-N7591\/307851487?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">goblets<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Ornative-Tableware-Kathryn-20-Piece-Copper-18-0-Stainless-Steel-Flatware-Set-Service-for-4-ORN-065-CO\/309710316?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">flatware<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0are all from The Home Depot! No, I\u2019m not kidding.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Arranging the Photo Booth Area<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122014 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/ec4c0fd6dc90e611944de57f2b761bcd.jpg\" alt=\"How to throw an outdoor \u201cMask-querade\u201d Halloween Party\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I created the copper frame for the photo booth in a similar way as the drink sign a couple years back, and I knew I wanted to use it as a backdrop for this event. Since I already had the white fabric and curtain lights attached, I just added black sheer fabric I had laying around along with the skull and chains (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Flora-Bunda-3-in-Halloween-Mini-Natural-Plastic-Skulls-Fillers-in-PVC-Gift-Box-12-Pices-Per-Box-HW1711-NAT\/313637917?cm_sp=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD28O%7C000000%7CNickellMorgan%7C121959\">similar<\/a>)<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">I got from The Home Depot a few Halloween\u2019s back. I set up a little graveyard area and used the Halloween decor as props to use.
