Here\u2019s how to complete these master bathroom updates.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>1: Replace the Faucets<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99666 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/dc36519792cecf68f227b44e7a0e2546.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faucet<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long Wrench<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Silicone<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Water Connectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I was really intimidated by the thought of replacing my bathroom faucet, but I knew how much of a difference it would make, so I thought I would grit my teeth and bear it.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m glad I did! I replaced my boring builder-grade faucet with this gorgeous oil-rubbed bronze Delta faucet.<\/p>\n<p>Following the instructions from the box were really easy, but here are those steps with photography to make it even easier.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99679 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/1fd47a503ba53469558b6e4d17b757c3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>First, turn off the water under your sink. Then turn on your old faucet to drain any water leftover.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99680 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/873c807d80e12c59722ce84e33e8a74b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Remove the old drain and faucet. Unscrew the water lines, the plastic nuts at the base of the faucet, the drain and the p-trap.<\/p>\n<p>The specifics of your faucet may change, but obviously removing it is the first step.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99681 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/a80a3dabbb29aa77119bc7df4e0383c6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Clean the area really well.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99682 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/40213e347d27044684b617de0570fe8b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then, place the new faucet in the holes and add the plastic nuts to the mount underneath.<\/p>\n<p>Tip: When you screw the nuts on, don\u2019t screw them on tight just yet. You\u2019ll like the wiggle room for now.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99683 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/edcc469fc7a0ec1d6c5693a96d0b3afc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Squeeze silicone on the drain stopper, and place it in the drain hole.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99684 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/6dd771716a2ef969064916f026c7344c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>From below, screw the plastic drain pipe into the drain you just placed in the drain hole.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99685 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/d3b8af006f7672251cd4c4be253a2d72.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Install the stopper pull. This is why you wanted that wiggle room from earlier. Place the stopper pull in the faucet from the top.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99686 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/ab9787610e044f3e084a292f2c0e0511.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then place the white, bulbous \u201cstopper mover\u201d into the drain pipe, and use the plastic part with lots of holes to attach those two pieces using the v-shaped metal bracket. Use your hands first, then a wrench to get them nice and tight.\u00a0Attach water lines up to the faucet you just tightened.<\/p>\n<p>Screw the p-trap back on how you found it, screw it tightly, and make sure your plastic gaskets are in place so your water won\u2019t leak.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99689 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/f759b42a325ae85152b6c2a9cd9a5339-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Before you turn on the water, be sure to unscrew nozzle of your faucet. Turn on water, flush the for faucet 1 minute. Check for leaks. Here\u2019s how you do it.<\/p>\n<p>First, remove the current item.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99692 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/4c2281fcc5b5d1509e07e616764383d1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then, screw the metal plate into the wall (use drywall fasteners if there\u2019s no stud behind your drywall).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99693 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/36eab741c508f192d055f0d058167438.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Finally, slip your new towel rack or hooks onto the plate.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it!<\/p>\n<p>Look at how much of a difference it makes replacing these items. I was so intimidate before I started, but it was so simple once I got going, I was just nervous to start!<\/p>\n<p>First, turn off the water. For me, I didn\u2019t have a direct line I could turn off for just my tub, so I had to turn off the water to my whole house.<\/p>\n<p>Then, Ttake off the existing spout. Mine came off pretty easy.<\/p>\n<p>After that, push the new plastic spout holder onto the copper pipe.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99694 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/fe7f38fcc9fd6762d538ddf763899cea.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My copper pipe was too long, though, so I had to measure where I needed to cut it, pull it back off, and then I cut the copper pipe using a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Stanley-12-in-High-Tension-Hack-Saw-with-Mini-Hack-Saw-20-036M\/100496136?cm_mmc=socialmedia%7Capronblog%7CD26B%7C000000%7CAlexiPolitis%7C99661\">hacksaw<\/a>. There are no moving parts. You essentially just have to screw the pieces in!<\/p>\n<p>Make sure your water is still turned off. Replace the dial using the same steps as above.\u00a0Remove old arm and flange (I used the arm of my wrench inside the arm for leverage.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99690 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/homeimprovementblogs.com\/hg-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/34a280a6deda4bceb70cd37a29e85e1c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Screw in new arm and flange.
