PEX Tubing Importance and Uses

The PEX tubing also known as PEX pipe is an excellent alternative to conventional piping structures made with metals like copper or with chlorinated polyvinyl chloride or other materials. The high performance and great strength of these tubes make them most preferred form of piping units to be used for all sorts of plumbing applications. The tube structures made with using PEX  are well suited for numerous applications such as:

  • Baseboard Radiant Heating
  • Radiant Floor Heating
  •  Solar Radiant Heating
  • Potable Plumbing Supply Systems
  • Under Floor Water Supplying Units
  • Cold and Hot Water Supply Systems

In addition to these rigorous applications, these piping units are also useful to cater all types of underground and indoor floor applications. There are diverse excellent features possessed by these pipes that make them suitable to be employed for all these forms of applications. The Radiant heat PEX tubing is completely safe to use as they are provided with ASTM certification. The high quality standards met by it make it suitable for extensive usage means. The outer as well as inner structure of these tubes is very smooth, flexible and robust. People can secure these pipes in varied sizes such as 1/2″ , 3/4″ , 5/8″, 1″ and 3/8″ inch. The coil length used for making these pipes is 500 to 1000 or 20 sections foot.

The pipes made with PEX are used with fittings and manifolds of high quality. The manifolds are connected to main water supplying lines which are further branched out to other fittings and pipes in order to supply water at numerous locations. There are different forms of tubes available for cold and hot water supply systems. The oxygen barrier PEX tubing can easily withstand extreme temperature conditions without incurring any damage or deformation. It is therefore best forms of tubes to be used for wide range of plumbing applications.
